An Invitation to Collaborate

The Influence of Authentic Leadership in Creating Conditions for Optimal Learning:

A Hermeneutic Phenomenological Study

Dear Colleague,

Advancing collective understanding of the attributes that generate conditions for optimal learning is essential to fostering progressive individual, organizational, and societal development. Guided by this lens of thought, I invite you to participate in a research study I am conducting regarding the relationship between authentic leadership and the conditions for optimal learning in the elementary structure of the public schooling sector.

My genuine curiosity regarding this focus has been the impetus for much of my journey through the doctoral program at Creighton University. To that end, as I arrive at the data collection phase of this research journey, I ask for your assistance. In short, I am seeking to interview innovative elementary educators with a minimum of three years experience in the public schooling system. As such, I invite you to become a collaborative partner in this endeavor by engaging in a fifteen-minute Microsoft Forms survey, a one-hour interview, and a one-hour focus group session. Ultimately, seeking to understand your lived experiences with authentic leadership and the process of creating conditions for optimal learning may offer opportunities to better understand the relationship between these phenomena and their application in public schools.

If you share my enthusiasm for exploring this question, I ask that you join me in the spirit of reflective inquiry by completing the participant survey found in the link at the bottom of this page. For your reference, additional links have been provided should you prefer to explore this study's methodology and criteria before completing the survey. In choosing to be a collaborative partner in this journey, the survey will branch to a series of questions asking you to reflect on your experiences with leadership. With an inductive research lens, I posit that this initial step toward participation will serve as the precursor to narratives of lived experiences that can offer insight into the relationship between authenticity and the conditions for optimal learning.

In closing, I thank you in advance for your time and consideration of this request. Such efforts will contribute the proverbial brick to the path of greater understanding while laying the groundwork for research beyond this proposed study.

                                                                                                                                                                            Respectfully,

                                                                                                                            Timothy R. Miller

                                                                                                                                                              TimMiller@creighton.edu

                                                                                                                                                              IRB Protocol # 2004935
